Lahore (Web Desk): Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by 35 runs in the second Twenty20 International (T20I) at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on Monday to take 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
After winning the toss, Sri Lanka decided to bat firs and set 183-run target for Pakistan.
Sri Lanka’s Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored 77 runs while Shehan Jaysasuria contributed 34 to the total in 20 overs; Sri Lanka lost 6 wickets in its innings. Imad Wasim, Wahab Riaz and Shadab Khan took one wicket each.
In response, Pakistan’s batting line-up crumbled for one more time and the team managed to score merely 147 runs in 19 overs.
Imad remained the top scorer for Pakistan with 47 runs followed by Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed who contributed 26.
Sri Lanka’s Nuwan Pradeep played crucial role for his team by taking 4 wickets. Wanindu Hasaranga sent three batsmen to pavilion while Isuru Udana took 2 wickets.
Earlier on October 5, Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 64 runs in the first T20.
The third and last T20 will be played on October 9 (Wednesday) at the same place though Sri Lanka have already won the series.
