Islamabad (Web Desk): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said Pakistan remains committed to peace, but any attempt to impose war on the country would be answered with a forceful and decisive reaction.

He made these remarks on Friday while addressing an event in Islamabad organized by the Press Association of Supreme Court to mark one year since the victory of Marka-e-Haq.

Speaking on the occasion, Attaullah Tarar said that the entire nation stood shoulder to shoulder with the Armed Forces of Pakistan during Marka-e-Haq.

The minister added that national success is only possible through unity and collective strength.

He stated that, with the blessings of Allah Almighty, Pakistan emerged successful on diplomatic, military, and narrative fronts.

The minister added that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and the country’s defence system demonstrated exceptional capability before the world through the downing of Rafale jets.

He said that India’s defeat dealt a blow to its arrogance and brought Pakistan praise and recognition from the international community.

Tarar added that the armed forces responded with such effectiveness that the enemy was forced to step back within a few hours.

He said that India approached Pakistan for a ceasefire after receiving a strong response, and despite being in a position of advantage, Pakistan accepted the proposal because it believes in peace and dialogue.

The information minister highlighted that the global community now regards Pakistan as a peaceful nation.

He also said the victory filled overseas Pakistanis with pride, noting that many expatriates proudly carried and displayed their Pakistani passports.

Praising the role of journalists and media outlets during Marka-e-Haq, the information minister said that Pakistani media acted with responsibility and maturity, earning appreciation worldwide, unlike Indian media, which he accused of spreading unfounded claims during the conflict.

He noted that every segment of society, including young people, social media activists, journalists, lawyers, engineers, and doctors, played an active role in presenting Pakistan’s narrative.

The minister especially appreciated the younger generation for using memes and digital platforms effectively to counter hostile propaganda.

Attaullah Tarar credited the achievement to the leadership and vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as well as the bravery and military strategy of Field Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

He also commended Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu and Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf for the professionalism, preparedness, and performance demonstrated by the armed forces.

Describing the ceremony as a positive tradition, the information minister said that the celebration of Marka-e-Haq reflects national pride, unity, and solidarity.

A cake-cutting ceremony was also held at the end of the event.
