Lahore (Web Desk): In response to the escalating regional tensions with India, the Punjab government has launched an extensive series of emergency preparedness drills across the province.

These mock exercises, being conducted by Civil Defence teams in collaboration with Rescue 1122, are part of a broader strategy to bolster provincial readiness for any unforeseen crisis.

The initiative comes under direct instructions from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who has ordered the full mobilization of the Civil Defence Department to ensure all necessary measures are in place.

As part of this effort, simulations and emergency response drills are actively underway in numerous key districts including Rawalpindi, Murree, Jhelum, Chakwal, Sargodha, Narowal, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sahiwal, Multan, and Muzaffargarh.

According to a Punjab government spokesperson, the provincial government aims to strengthen coordination between emergency services and improve public safety mechanisms, emphasizing swift response capabilities in light of the current security climate.

He clarified that the firing sounds, heard in Lahore, were part of the mock exercises.
