Islamabad (Staff Report): Chief Minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif has sent a legal notice to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairperson Imran Khan asking him to apologise over his allegation of being offered Rs10 billion for keeping silence regarding the Panama Leaks case.

According to details, the chief minister’s lawyer has sent a legal notice under The Defamation Ordinance, 2002 and Pakistan Penal Code, 1860, to Imran stating that the PTI chief should apologise within 14 days otherwise the matter would be taken to the court.

A few days earlier, Imran had claimed that he was offered Rs10 billion for keeping his silence over the Panama Leaks case.

The statement of PTI chief has raised curiosity among members of the opposition as well as the government. They all wanted Imran to disclose the name of the person but PTI chief had refused to disclose who had made the offer but said that the person was a close aide to CM Shehbaz.

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah had said while countering the statement that Imran cannot even be offered Rs10.

Moreover, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's daughter Maryam Nawaz also called Imran a liar, over making the allegation.
