California (Web Desk): OpenAI is reportedly working on transforming its artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT into a “super app” featuring coding tools and AI agents, according to a report by the Financial Times.
The report states that the move is aimed at increasing revenue ahead of a potential stock market listing. As part of the strategy, OpenAI plans to introduce major internal changes and redirect resources toward securing large corporate clients, while also strengthening its competition with rival AI firm Anthropic.
The overhaul is expected to further expand support for OpenAI’s coding product “Codex,” providing it with greater resources and integration capabilities.
According to the report, OpenAI also plans to enhance the ChatGPT interface by introducing new promotions and features designed to guide users toward coding tools, image generation, and third-party services such as Canva and others.
The company reportedly expects its earnings to increase by around 50 percent by the end of the year, driven by monthly subscription fees from Codex users.
OpenAI also claims that ChatGPT’s user base has reached nearly one billion monthly users, including around 50 million paying subscribers.
