Islamabad (Web Desk): Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar took oath as Chief Justice (CJ) of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday.
President Asif Ali Zardari administered the oath to the new IHC CJ during a ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad.
The event was attended by a wide range of dignitaries, including judges of the high court, Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, federal ministers, parliamentarians, legal community members, law officers, and media personnel.
Prior to this appointment, Justice Dogar had been serving as the Acting Chief Justice of the IHC.
Earlier, chief justices of Sindh High Court (SHC) and Peshawar High Court (PHC) also took oath of their offices.
