Cold and dry weather expected across the country: PMD

Islamabad (Web Desk): The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast cold and dry weather for most parts of the country, with the likelihood of temperatures remaining low for the next few days.

In Islamabad, cold and dry conditions are expected, while areas like Murree and Galyat will also experience similar weather. Most districts in Punjab will see cold and dry weather, although foggy conditions are likely to persist in Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, and Gujranwala.

Fog is also expected in areas like Gujrat, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan, Khanewal, Layyah, Kot Addu, Bahawalpur, and surrounding areas. Dry and cold weather is forecast for most parts of Sindh and Balochistan.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, fog is likely in Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, and Dera Ismail Khan. The weather in Gilgit-Baltistan is expected to remain extremely cold, with skies partly cloudy. The northern areas will experience intensified cold, with temperatures in Skardu dropping to as low as minus 5°C. In Gilgit, temperatures have dipped to minus 3°C, and in Astore and Quetta, they have recorded minus 1°C.

Dera and Chitral also reported temperatures of minus 1°C, while Quetta recorded 2°C and Islamabad 3°C.

Given the severity of the weather, citizens have been advised to take necessary precautions.
