Tehran (Web Desk): In Tehran and Baghdad, celebrations started after tensions and fears of war in the region eased following the announcement of a ceasefire.
As soon as the ceasefire was declared, thousands of Iranian citizens poured onto the streets chanting victory slogans.
During the celebrations, people also raised slogans in support of Pakistan, acknowledging its role in efforts to restore peace.
It is worth noting that before the official ceasefire announcement, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, had reportedly threatened to target Iran’s key infrastructure, power plants, and other critical installations.
In response, Iranian citizens displayed remarkable unity by gathering in large numbers around major bridges, power plants, and sensitive facilities in Tehran, forming what they described as a “human shield” to protect national assets.
Once the ceasefire was formally announced, celebrations spread across cities and towns throughout Iran.
Thousands of people marched through the streets of Tehran carrying Iranian flags and expressing joy over the end of tensions.
Similar scenes were witnessed in Iraq, where citizens also took to the streets to celebrate the end of the conflict.
A notable aspect of the celebrations in Iran was the public expression of gratitude toward Pakistan.
Demonstrators in Tehran chanted slogans in support of Pakistan, acknowledging its quiet yet effective diplomatic efforts in helping achieve the ceasefire.
Iranian citizens stated that Pakistan’s role as a messenger of peace during a difficult time would not be forgotten.
According to analysts, the ceasefire represents not only a political victory for Iran but also a success for Pakistan’s “quiet diplomacy,” a role that was recently acknowledged by the British High Commission. The de-escalation of tensions in the region is being viewed as a significant step toward global peace.
