California (Web Desk): WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature for its Status updates, giving users more flexibility when adding music to their posts.
Stories have become a common feature across social media and messaging platforms, allowing people to share moments from their daily lives with friends and contacts. These updates generally disappear automatically after 24 hours.
On WhatsApp, the feature is known as Status, and the platform continues to introduce improvements to make it more engaging for users.
According to technology website WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has started introducing an option that allows users to add longer music clips to their Status updates. The feature is being rolled out for both Android and iOS users.
Previously, users could add music to a Status for up to 15 seconds. With the latest update, however, the maximum duration has been increased to 30 seconds.
The extended music option could be particularly useful for users who feel that 15 seconds is too short to capture a suitable portion of a song. The 30-second limit also provides more room for users to match music with the duration of their Status content.
WABetaInfo reports that the feature is currently available to a limited number of users. WhatsApp is expected to gradually expand access, making the new option available to a wider user base over time.
