Rabi ul Awal moon sighted, Eid Milad un Nabi on October 19

Islamabad: (Agencies): The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee on Thursday announced that the moon for the holy month of Rabi ul Awal has been sighted in Pakistan and the Eid Milad un Nabi (PBUH) will be celebrated on October 19 (Tuesday).

According to details, the announcement was made after a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee presided by its Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony in Islamabad.

The rest of the zonal/ district committees met at their respective provincial/ district headquarters. 
Quoting astronomical considerations, Maulana Azad had said the chances of sighting the new crescent Thursday evening were "very bright".

The new crescent was born on crossing conjunction point at 6:06 Pakistan Standard Time (PST) on Wednesday.

Earlier, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had predicted that there is a 'good chance' of sighting the new moon of Rabi-ul-Awwal on the evening of October 7.
