Washington/Tehran  (Web Desk): The Gulf region is witnessing a sharp escalation in military tensions as the United States (US) conducts large-scale strikes on Iranian territory.

According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), nearly 200 strategic targets within Iran have been attacked over the past 72 hours, resulting in a reported death toll of 1,332.

Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of CENTCOM, provided details of the operation, stating that US B-2 stealth bombers deployed “bunker buster” bombs to destroy Iran’s underground ballistic missile launchers.

CENTCOM claims that the operation has successfully reduced Iran’s ballistic missile firing capacity by approximately 90% since the campaign began.

In addition to missile facilities, over 30 Iranian naval vessels have reportedly been sunk, further crippling Tehran’s maritime capabilities. US officials emphasized that these operations aim to neutralize any potential threats from Iran and weaken its overall military infrastructure.

The next phase of the campaign, according to American authorities, will focus on Iran’s missile manufacturing facilities.

The objective is to prevent the country from rebuilding its missile arsenal and to diminish its long-term military capabilities.

US officials have stated that the strikes are part of a broader strategy to maintain regional stability and deter future threats posed by Iran’s military programs.

The escalation comes amid growing tensions in the Middle East, raising concerns among international observers about the potential for a wider regional conflict.

The impact of these strikes on civilian populations and Iran’s political landscape remains uncertain, but the scale of destruction highlights the intensity of the ongoing military campaign.
