Islamabad: (Web Desk): The nation is observing Eid-ul-Azha today (Saturday) with deep religious devotion, traditional fervour, and a renewed spirit of unity.

The day dawned with special Eid prayers held at mosques, Eidgahs, and open spaces throughout the country. Large numbers of worshippers came together in congregational prayers, offering supplications for the well-being of the Muslim Ummah and seeking peace, prosperity, and progress for Pakistan and the broader region.

Religious scholars, in their sermons delivered after the prayers, reflected on the profound legacy of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and Prophet Ismail (AS). They emphasised the importance of patience, unity, and spiritual resilience, encouraging believers to embody these values in their personal and collective lives, especially during times of hardship.

The religious obligation of Qurbani is also being fulfilled across the country today. Families and communities are participating in the act of animal sacrifice to honour the devotion and submission of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

The spirit of the ritual is being reinforced with calls for generosity and inclusion, as those performing the sacrifice are urged to distribute the meat widely, particularly among the less fortunate. This practice underscores the essence of Eid as a time of charity, empathy, and shared blessings.

In anticipation of the large gatherings and public activity, federal and provincial governments have enforced strict security measures. These efforts are especially focused in major urban centres and areas where large congregations are taking place, ensuring a safe environment for all citizens.

Alongside these arrangements, local administrations have taken steps to ensure efficient waste management over the three days of Eid.

These operations aim to maintain cleanliness and hygiene, reflecting a commitment to civic duty and collective well-being.
