New York (Web Desk): World Food Safety Day 2021 was observed across the globe on Monday with the theme ‘Safe food today for a healthy tomorrow’.
According to World Health Organization (WHO), the aim behind observing the day is to draw attention and inspire action to help prevent, detect and manage foodborne risks, contributing to food security, human health, economic prosperity, agriculture, market access, tourism and sustainable development.
The theme of World Food Safety Day 2021 stresses that production and consumption of safe food has immediate and long-term benefits for people, the planet and the economy.
This year, the global food safety watchdogs are especially highlighting the risks associated with harmful eating practices, in the backdrop of COVID-19.
