Punjab CM, US Consul General discuss bilateral ties, mutual cooperation

Lahore (Web Desk): The newly appointed United States (US) Consul General, Stetson Sanders, called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in Lahore.

The chief minister extended her congratulations to Mr. Sanders on taking charge of his new assignment in Pakistan.

During the meeting, the two sides held discussions on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring avenues for collaboration in key sectors such as trade, energy, technology, agriculture, and educational exchange programs.

CM Maryam Nawaz expressed optimism over the growing volume of trade between Pakistan and the United States, describing it as an encouraging development.

She emphasized that the Punjab government is prioritizing modern agricultural practices, particularly those that promote water conservation and precision farming.

Additionally, she underscored the importance of developing cold chain infrastructure to reduce post-harvest losses and improve food security.

The Punjab chief minister invited American agri-tech firms to explore investment opportunities in Punjab's evolving agricultural sector.
