Mobile internet service suspended across Balochistan due to security concerns

Quetta (Web Desk): Mobile internet services have been suspended in Quetta and several other districts of Balochistan due to heightened security concerns, according to provincial authorities.

The disruption is expected to remain in effect until at least August 15, though in some areas the suspension is indefinite.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), in coordination with provincial authorities, confirmed that mobile data services have been halted in Kohlu, Chaman, Killa Abdullah, Pishin, Loralai, Ziarat, Killa Saifullah, Nushki, and Harnai.

The internet shutdown, however, has severely impacted everyday life for many citizens.

Students are missing out on virtual classes, disrupting their academic progress, while freelancers and online entrepreneurs are struggling to maintain their work without reliable connectivity.

This lack of access to digital platforms is not only interrupting daily activities but also threatening long-term educational and economic outcomes.
