Beijing (Web Desk/Agencies): China has expressed optimism that parties involved will seize the chance to promote peace and resolve their differences through dialogue, responding to a US ceasefire proposal mediated by Pakistan that was rejected by Iran.

During a regular press briefing on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning remarked, “China welcomes all efforts that are conducive to peace and supports Pakistan's active mediation efforts.”

She added that the international community shares a common desire to see a ceasefire established quickly and discussions resumed. “China is willing to play a constructive role,” Mao concluded.

Earlier, a British news agency reported that Pakistan has drafted a comprehensive ceasefire framework aimed at easing tensions between Iran and the United States (US).

According to the report, Pakistan has shared the proposed plan with both Washington and Tehran.

The initiative seeks to prevent a major conflict in the region and encourages resolving disputes through diplomatic channels.

Political analysts note that the significance of Pakistan’s peace proposal has grown, particularly with backing from a global power such as China.

This development comes at a time when the international community is actively working to avert the further war escalation in the region.
