Rawalpindi (Web Desk): A solemn ceremony was organised at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Defence and Martyrs Day to honour the sacrifices of Pakistan’s fallen heroes and remember their services to the nation.
A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army presented a salute at the Martyrs' Monument at the GHQ.
The Adjutant General of the Pakistan Army visited the monument and laid a floral wreath in memory of the martyrs.
He also met the families of the fallen soldiers during a special meeting held as part of the ceremony and expressed his support and solidarity with them.
The Adjutant General listened to the concerns and difficulties shared by the martyrs’ families and assured them that all possible assistance would be extended to address their issues.
Commemorative events were also organised at the mausoleums of Nishan-e-Haider recipients Lance Naik Muhammad Mahfooz Shaheed, Sawar Muhammad Hussain Shaheed and Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed.
