Quetta (Agencies): Authorities have suspended registration of over 3000 non-governmental organizations working in Balochistan province.
Taking action under National Action Plan (NAP), the registration 3250 NGOs has been revoked after they failed to submit essential documents and due to their inactivity.
About 4,000 NGOs are registered with Balochistan government. Nearly 2000 are registered with Department of Social Welfare, 1900 with Department of Industries and Commerce.
These NGOs had been directed to submit their details for scrutiny under the national action plan but most of them did not reply.
As per the details, 1601 NGOs registered with social welfare department did not submit the documents, while 1650 NGOs registered with Industries department failed to respond.
