Muzaffarabad (Web Desk): In Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), the call for protest and strike issued by the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) has been largely rejected by citizens, as normal life has been fully restored across the region.
According to reports, all major and small cities including the capital Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot are witnessing routine business activity, with markets, commercial centers, and public transport operating as usual. Residents are seen carrying out their daily routines without disruption.
Authorities have stated that the overall law and order situation remains stable and satisfactory.
Meanwhile, AJK Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has maintained a strong stance, saying that the government has decided to deal firmly with the JAAC and will not allow anyone to challenge the writ of the state.
To ensure the enforcement of law and order, AJK police have intensified operations against miscreants, launching a large-scale crackdown.
Police officials said that 72 individuals have been arrested so far for allegedly disturbing peace and violating the law, with weapons and other materials also recovered from their possession.
In addition, around 1,500 personnel from Islamabad Police have been deployed to Azad Kashmir on special duty to further strengthen security arrangements and assist local law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace and stability across the region.
