Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi was released from Adiala Jail on Tuesday after the Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered his immediate release.

Speaking to newsmen outside Adiala Jail, Qureshi said that will meet PTI chief Imran Khan on Wednesday and will present to him his political analysis and seek guidance.

Earlier, Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz of LHC's Rawalpindi bench announced the verdict to release the PTI chief and barred police from arresting him under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).

The court ordered the PTI leader to submit an affidavit to the Rawalpindi deputy commissioner within three days of his release.

In its verdict, the court maintained that the former federal minister would be able to conduct peaceful political activities according to the Constitution and law, and could address peaceful protests. It mandated that he stay away from protests that include vandalism, sieges and burning.

The court ordered the superintendent of the Adiala jail to immediately release Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

During the hearing the court told the law officer to bring forth any speeches or protests Qureshi led, adding that no political leader could control their words in a political gathering.

The judge told the law officer to produce any evidence against the PTI VC before the court.

At this, the official sought two days for the submission of evidence.

However, the court directed him to update the court within an hour after taking directives from the government.

The court then adjourned the hearing for an hour.

Meanwhile, the Punjab police presented a report on the cases against Qureshi.

As per the report, nine cases have been registered against Qureshi across Punjab. Four of these cases are registered in Lahore, while five cases are registered at different police stations in Multan.

The report was submitted upon the request of the PTI leader's daughter.

Separately, the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday directed the Punjab caretaker government to disclose details of all cases registered against Qureshi by June 6 (today).

On May 23, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered the release of Qureshi after he submitted an undertaking to the court. However, hours later he was re-arrested by the Punjab Police from outside the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi.

Subsequently, his daughter, Meher Bano Qureshi had approached the LHC seeking details of all undisclosed or new first information reports (FIR) registered against her father.

The Punjab chief secretary and inspector general police (IGP) had been nominated among the respondents in the petition.

It is pertinent to mention that several senior PTI leaders had been arrested after the protests erupted in response to PTI Chairman Imran Khan's arrest from the premises of IHC on May 9.
