Islamabad (Web Desk): President Asif Ali Zardari will depart for a four-day official trip to the Kyrgyz Republic today, accompanied by a senior-level delegation, as Pakistan seeks to further strengthen its partnership with the Central Asian nation.
According to Foreign Office, during the visit, President Zardari is scheduled to hold separate one-on-one discussions with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov before leading their respective delegations in formal bilateral talks.
The meetings will cover the full range of Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan relations, while also providing an opportunity for both leaders to exchange views on important regional and global developments of shared concern.
A major focus of the discussions will be expanding cooperation in several priority sectors, including trade and investment, energy, mining, agriculture, textiles, the halal industry, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, the digital economy, education, tourism, and people-to-people connectivity.
In addition to his meetings with the Kyrgyz leadership, President Zardari will also receive the Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament during a courtesy call.
The visit carries special significance as it marks the first official trip by a Pakistani president to the Kyrgyz Republic in 21 years, representing a landmark moment in the two countries' diplomatic ties.
It follows the successful visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to Pakistan in December last year and highlights the steady momentum of high-level engagement between the two friendly nations.
