Islamabad (Web Desk): Security agencies across Pakistan are on full alert to ensure peace and order during the 9th and 10th Muharram processions happening across the country.

A robust security plan, coordinated between federal and provincial governments, is in place. Control rooms at both levels remain active to monitor the situation continuously.

Authorities have implemented a strict zero-tolerance policy against sectarianism and religious hatred to safeguard the solemn observances.

Today, over 2,700 mourning processions and nearly 7,600 majalis are taking place in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Surveillance through drones and CCTV cameras is ongoing 24/7 in more than 1,100 sensitive locations to prevent any untoward incidents.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Minister of State Talal Chaudhry, and Interior Secretary Khurram Agha are personally overseeing security arrangements.

Minister Naqvi reiterated that maintaining law and order is the government’s highest priority and assured that all attempts to disrupt peace will be foiled. He condemned any religiously provocative content on social media, warning that such actions would not be tolerated.
