Tehran (Web Desk): Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei appeared publicly on Saturday during an Ashura event, according to footage aired by state television. This marked his first public appearance since the start of a 12-day air conflict with Israel, during which top Iranian commanders and nuclear scientists were reportedly killed.
The video showed Khamenei entering a hall filled with attendees chanting, commemorating Ashura, one of the most important days in the Muslim calendar. Previously, for security reasons, Khamenei had stayed in a “secure location” and communicated through pre-recorded messages.
In a pre-recorded address broadcast on June 26, Khamenei vowed that Iran would not surrender despite pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump.
