Islamabad (Web Desk): Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad on Tuesday said that Torkham border has been closed from today for all types of immigration to contain the spread of COVID-19.
“The decision has been taken keeping in view the directions of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC),” the minister tweeted.
The Interior Minister said Torkham Immigration Center on Pak-Afghan border will remain close till the fresh guidelines of the NCOC.
On the advise of the NCOC all types of immigration departure and arrival will be close from today at torkham Border till the fresh Guidelines of NCOC (Ministry of Interior) @OfficialNcoc

Earlier on Monday, a meeting of the NCOC, chaired by Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar, was held in Islamabad.
The forum announced safety protocols for 3,000 Afghan students studying in different educational institutions of the country.
It was decided that these students arriving from Afghanistan would undergo 10-day mandatory quarantine and those with positive tests would be sent back to their country.
“At the culmination of the quarantine, the students would be vaccinated against COVID-19,” the forum was informed.
