Lahore (Web Desk): A sessions court on Tuesday granted further relief to social media personalities Rajab Butt and Nadeem Mubarak, known online as Nani Wala, by extending their interim bail until January 26 in a case linked to the alleged advertisement of a gambling app.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Mansoor Ahmed Qureshi presided over the hearing of their bail applications. With the duration of their earlier bail having lapsed, both accused appeared before the court amid heightened security measures.
At the hearing, the counsel for the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) requested additional time to present the case record, informing the court that the investigating officer was engaged in proceedings before the Lahore High Court.
Granting the request, the judge allowed more time for submission of the required documents and ordered that the interim bail of both content creators be extended until January 26.
The case, registered by the NCCIA, alleges that Rajab Butt and Nadeem Mubarak used their social media platforms to promote and encourage the use of an online gambling application.
