Islamabad (Web Desk): By the close of November 2024, Pakistan saw substantial developments in its telecommunications sector, with the total number of cellular connections soaring to 193.2 million, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has revealed.
This surge translated to a mobile teledensity of 79.10%, marking significant mobile network outreach across the country.
Additionally, the shift towards mobile internet services was evident, as the number of mobile broadband users reached 139 million, boosting mobile broadband penetration to 56.90%.
Meanwhile, fixed-line telephony remained relatively static with just 3 million subscribers, accounting for a teledensity of 1.10%.
In contrast, broadband services, both fixed and mobile, saw a marked increase in uptake, with overall broadband subscribers reaching 143 million, thereby elevating the broadband penetration rate to 58.39%.
This data highlights Pakistan’s growing reliance on mobile and internet services, reflecting a broader trend towards digital connectivity.
