Lahore (Staff Report): Schools in Punjab will reopen on January 13 after the provincial government on Monday extended winter vacations till January 12 says a notification issued by the provincial Schools Education Department.
“In the wake of weather conditions, the winter vacations are hereby extended with effect from Jan 7, 2020 to Jan 12, 2020 in all public and private schools in Punjab,” read the notification.
“Due to extreme weather conditions, winter vacation has been increased till January 12th, 2020. All Public & Private Schools of Punjab will reopen on Monday January 13th, 2020,” the provincial education minister Murad Raas also confirmed the same on Twitter.

The Pakistan Meteorological Office has predicted widespread rain with snowfall over the hills in Balochistan, lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, south and central Punjab, at scattered places in upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan as well as in isolated places in upper Sindh.
