New Delhi (Staff Report): Well known seasoned Indian actor Om Puri has passed away after a massive heart attack early Friday morning. The veteran artist was 66 years old.
A close associate of Puri and Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) vice president, Ashoke Pandit confirmed the news and took to Twitter to share the news, saying “Sad & shocked to know that versatile actor Om Puri jee has expired due to heart attack early morning today. #RIP.”
Om Puri has appeared in numerous projects in Bollywood, as well as Pakistani, British, and American films.
Om Puri, 66, was known for his acting in films like Ardh Satya, Aakrosh, Jane Bhi Do Yaaron, Bhavni Bhavai, Mirch Masala and Dharavi. Puri, a graduate of Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, won the National Film Award for Best Actor for Arohan in 1982.
He performed recently in a Pakistani film ‘Actor in Law’ probably his last completed project.
