New Delhi (Web Desk): Despite warnings from the United States (US), relations between India and Russia appear to be growing stronger.
During a meeting in New Delhi between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin, both leaders announced plans to increase bilateral trade to $100 billion.
The two leaders also agreed to enhance cooperation in the defense and energy sectors. According to Indian officials, Modi expressed an interest in purchasing the S-400 defense system from Russia again, while India also seeks Russian cooperation in upgrading its Su-30 fighter jets.
Analysts suggest that this deepening relationship could impact the balance of power in the region and could lead to India-Russia relations playing a new role in global politics.
