Jeddah (Web Desk): Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Saudi Arabia on three-day official visit on Thursday.

Upon arrival in Jeddah, the premier was warmly received by Jeddah Governor Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi.

Earlier, the government of Pakistan, in a post shared on X, stated that PM Shehbaz has left for the visit at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The premier is accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and PM’s Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.

The deputy prime Minister will join the delegation from Madinah Munawwarah where he made a brief stopover after concluding his visit to Jordan for the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem.

Earlier today, Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi, during his weekly briefing, also announced PM's visit to KSA.

During the visit, PM Shehbaz will meet Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Discussions will focus on consolidating Pakistan-Saudi Arabia bilateral relations as well as the exchange of views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.

The prime minister will also perform Umrah and pay respects at Roza-e-Rasool (Peace Be Upon Him) in Madinah Munawwarah.

"Although the visit comes at a time of rising tensions across the Gulf region, it is expected to extend beyond addressing immediate challenges. It will further strengthen bilateral relations, deepen strategic cooperation, enhance coordination on regional and international issues of mutual interest, and reinforce multilateral cooperation," the FO said.
