New Delhi (Web Desk): India's aviation industry is grappling with growing financial strain, with observers attributing the sector's troubles to Modi-led government's flawed economic approach.
An analysis published by Indian news outlet The Wire says the industry's weaknesses have become increasingly evident amid rising geopolitical tensions between the United States (US) and Iran, soaring aviation fuel prices and the continued depreciation of the Indian rupee.
The report further claims that the economic policies pursued during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's tenure have contributed to the collapse of at least 10 Indian airlines, which were forced to cease operations after incurring significant financial losses.
It also notes that the suspension of Pakistani airspace for Indian flights during periods of heightened tensions between the two neighbouring countries placed additional operational and financial pressure on Indian carriers, pushing the aviation sector closer to a severe crisis.
