Lahore (Staff Report): A team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reached Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif’s Model Town residence on Saturday to arrest Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz in cases of owning assets beyond means.
Punjab police contingents, Rangers and anti-riot force have cordoned off the street and surrounded Shehbaz's 96-H Model Town residence.
A large number of PML-N workers also reached the residence and clashed with police as they attempted to reach the gate of the house.
Talking to media, Additional Director NAB Chaudhry Asghar said the NAB team has Hamza’s arrest warrants.
Later speaking to the media, the NAB additional director said, "We are not being allowed inside the residence to arrest Hamza and no one is cooperating with us."
On Friday, a team of NAB conducted a raid at Shehbaz Sharif’s residence in Lahore to arrest Hamza Shehbaz.
Sharif’s guards exchanged harsh words with the NAB officials and stopped the team outside the residence.
Later, the NAB officials left without arresting anyone due to severe resistance.
On Saturday, a first information report (FIR) was registered against the guards of PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz on an application filed by the NAB.
Meanwhile, the federal government on Friday placed the names of Pakistan PML-N leaders Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Hamza Shehbaz, Suleman Shehbaz, Miftah Ismail and others on the Exit Control List (ECL) on the recommendation of NAB.
