Washington (Web Desk): White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt has said that the United States currently has no intention of deploying ground troops inside Iran amid rising tensions in the region.
Speaking to reporters, she emphasized that while the situation is being closely monitored, Washington has not made any plans to send its land forces into Iranian territory at this time.
Leavitt stated that the United States, along with its allies, is taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety of international shipping routes, particularly in the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
She explained that efforts are underway to safeguard oil tankers passing through the waterway, which is considered one of the world’s most critical energy transit corridors.
According to the White House spokesperson, the protection of commercial shipping and global energy supplies remains a top priority for Washington and its partners.
She also revealed that Donald Trump has been in continuous contact with leaders of Arab countries to discuss the evolving situation and coordinate responses.
These diplomatic engagements, she said, are aimed at maintaining regional stability and strengthening cooperation with allied nations in the Middle East during a period of heightened tensions.
During the briefing, Leavitt accused Iran of deliberately prolonging negotiations in order to advance its nuclear ambitions. She claimed that Tehran had attempted to use diplomatic talks as a strategy to buy time for developing nuclear weapons capabilities.
However, she stressed that the United States would not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons under any circumstances and remains committed to preventing such an outcome.
The White House spokesperson further criticized the Iranian leadership, saying that it had failed to choose the path of peace and dialogue.
According to her, the consequences currently being faced by Tehran are the result of its own decisions and policies. She maintained that the United States had repeatedly called for responsible behavior and de-escalation, but those appeals were not adequately addressed by the Iranian authorities.
Leavitt also claimed that significant damage had already been inflicted on Iranian naval capabilities, stating that around 20 Iranian naval warships had been destroyed. She added that the current US administration believes in backing its warnings with concrete actions.
In her remarks, she emphasized that President Trump does not rely solely on rhetoric or threats, but instead takes practical steps when it comes to protecting American interests and ensuring regional security.
