Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Security officials have stated that the Afghan Taliban administration must make a clear choice between maintaining relations with Pakistan or continuing its patronage with militant organizations operating in the region.

According to security sources, journalists from various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were briefed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) about the ongoing Operation Ghazab lil-Haq.

During the briefing, the security officials clarified that Pakistan does not have any hostility toward Afghanistan or its citizens. However, they expressed serious concerns about the Afghan Taliban authorities, alleging that the regime is functioning as a central coordinator for terrorism in the region.

By providing assistance and safe space to multiple armed groups, the regime has, according to the sources, emerged as a challenge to regional peace and stability.

The officials explained that Operation Ghazab lil-Haq forms part of Pakistan’s broader counterterrorism campaign and will continue until the Afghan Taliban leadership provides reliable assurances and takes tangible steps to halt the backing of militant groups.

Security sources also pointed out that the Khawarij are promoting a misinterpreted and self-devised version of Islam. They stressed that the religion does not endorse terrorism or suicide attacks in any form.

They further said that the killing of innocent civilians, mistreatment of women, and attacks on mosques — along with using such places for militant activities — contradict both Islamic teachings and the country’s social values.

Religious scholars belonging to different schools of thought have declared action against such groups and their supporters as a justified form of jihad.

According to the briefing, Pakistan’s operations are focused on the hideouts, facilitation hubs and launch pads of Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan involved in terrorist activities.

Officials maintained that these actions are carried out strictly on the basis of credible intelligence and are directed solely at militant infrastructure.

They rejected allegations that civilian populations are being targeted, describing such reports as inaccurate and an attempt to overlook the loss of innocent Pakistani lives caused by acts of terrorism.

The briefing also highlighted that the Ministry of Information and relevant security institutions are regularly keeping the media and the public informed about the progress of Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, including the release of verified video footage related to the operations.

Officials added that marginalized groups inside Afghanistan have welcomed the operation, while misleading and fabricated propaganda is being circulated through Afghan official social media platforms as well as sections of Indian-backed media.

Security authorities further informed that, alongside strikes against militant hideouts across the border, intelligence-driven operations are also continuing across Pakistan, with more than 200 such actions being successfully carried out each day.

They stressed that national unity and the effective implementation of the National Action Plan are crucial elements in the fight to eliminate terrorism.

The security officials said that Pakistan seeks constructive and positive relations with all countries but remains fully prepared to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

They added that anyone assuming Pakistan’s security is at risk due to developments in Iran or the broader region is living in a fool’s paradise.
