Riyadh (Web Desk): Former Saudi intelligence chief Prince Turki Al-Faisal has issued strong warnings regarding escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, claiming that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has played a central role in pushing the United States toward military action against Iran.
According to Al-Faisal, Netanyahu made six visits to the US to meet former President Donald Trump, reportedly persuading him to consider striking Iran.
Al-Faisal emphasized that this conflict is primarily driven by Netanyahu and claimed that the Israeli leader aims to amend the country’s constitution to grant himself the authority to make unilateral decisions without legal or institutional limitations. “This war is Netanyahu’s war,” he said, highlighting the potential internal political motives behind Israel’s aggressive stance.
The former Saudi intelligence chief also pointed out that President Trump was reportedly taken aback by Iran’s responses to military threats. Al-Faisal noted that past US officials had consistently advised Trump against engaging in military action against Iran, warning of the potential consequences.
Al-Faisal further cautioned that any confrontation with Iran is likely to involve attacks on U.S. military bases in the region. He warned that such actions would have serious repercussions, and the United States would not be immune from the negative fallout.
This statement comes amid heightened regional tensions, with Iran responding strongly to perceived threats, raising concerns over a wider escalation that could destabilize the Middle East and impact global security and energy markets.
