Tehran (Web Desk): Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has sent a message in Arabic to leaders of Gulf and neighboring countries, stating that Iran made every diplomatic effort to avoid war, but had to take defensive measures due to US and Israeli military actions.
President Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran respects the sovereignty of all countries in the region and that peace and stability in the Middle East can only be achieved through regional cooperation.
The statement comes amid rising tensions in the region and increased strain between Iran and Western allies. Analysts suggest that issuing the message directly in Arabic aims to reassure Gulf states and limit potential regional conflicts.
At the same time, Iran targeted US military bases in the Gulf region with missile and drone strikes. Iranian officials said these attacks were aimed at facilities involved in planning or supporting military actions against Iran.
Following the strikes on US bases in various Gulf states, security was put on high alert and air defense systems were activated.
