Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee in Islamabad today to review the ongoing process of privatizing Distribution Companies (DISCOs).
During the meeting, Ishaq Dar stated that the objective of privatization is to enhance operational efficiency, improve service delivery, and ensure financial stability in the power distribution sector.
He, however, stressed that a strong regulatory framework and effective oversight mechanisms will remain crucial to safeguard consumer interests, maintain transparency, and ensure accountability throughout the process.
The committee expressed satisfaction over the progress made so far and directed the Privatization Commission to complete the process within the agreed timelines.
