Moscow (Web Desk): Fresh international concerns have emerged over the presence and growing activity of global terrorist networks in Afghanistan, as a regional security alliance warned that the country's security situation continues to deteriorate.
The six-member Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) voiced alarm over developments in Afghanistan, highlighting the increasing threat posed by militant groups operating from Afghan territory.
CSTO Secretary General Talantbek Masadykov stated that instability in Afghanistan has been steadily worsening, while international terrorist organizations have become more active and better connected than before.
He noted that the consequences of Afghanistan’s security challenges are no longer confined to neighboring states.
According to the CSTO chief, the growing instability now represents a serious and shared threat to peace and security across both Asia and Europe.
Political and defense analysts believe the strong statement from the Russia-led security bloc, which includes several Central Asian nations, is likely to intensify international pressure on the authorities in Kabul.
The Afghan administration has consistently denied the presence of terrorist groups operating from its territory.
