Quetta (Web Desk): The Balochistan government has announced a major initiative to redevelop and beautify Sui Town, introducing a series of projects under the Sui Master Plan aimed at aligning the area with modern urban standards.
The decision was finalized during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Monday, which focused on improving infrastructure, promoting sustainable growth, and enhancing the overall quality of life in the town.
The meeting brought together key officials, including Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) Managing Director Sikandar Memon, and senior representatives from relevant departments.
Lawmakers and local administrators, including Member of the National Assembly Mian Khan Bugti, Deputy Commissioner Dera Bugti Zohaib-ul-Haq, and Municipal Committee Chairman Izzat Aman Bugti, also participated.
During the meeting, it was agreed that the Sui Master Development Plan would launch a range of initiatives to modernize the town.
The projects under consideration include installing new streetlights, constructing an efficient drainage network, ensuring a reliable supply of clean drinking water, creating sports facilities, and building a state-of-the-art bus terminal with modern amenities.
CM Bugti emphasized that the plan’s main aim is to provide residents with quality civic services and elevate their living standards. He highlighted the government’s commitment to transforming Sui into a well-organized, attractive, and sustainable town.
The phased implementation of the projects will be supported by Pakistan Petroleum Limited, which has pledged to contribute its agreed-upon resources promptly.
Bugti stressed that every aspect of the development must uphold transparency, high quality, and timely completion, with careful planning that reflects the needs and realities of the local population.
He added that the transformation of Sui would not only strengthen the local economy but also create new job opportunities, offering tangible benefits to residents and promoting social and economic growth in the region.
