Washington (Web Desk): Pakistan and the United States (US) have renewed their commitment to working side by side against terrorism, reaffirming their joint resolve to confront militant groups that threaten the security of both countries as well as regional stability.
The two sides specifically identified ISIS-Khorasan (ISIS-K), Al-Qa’ida (AQ), the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), along with its affiliated groups, as key security concerns.
The pledge was made during the Fourth US-Pakistan Counterterrorism Dialogue, held on Tuesday in Washington, DC.
The meeting was co-chaired by US Coordinator for Counterterrorism Ambassador Gregory LoGerfo and Pakistan’s Special Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Nabeel Munir.
The high-level talks highlighted the importance both governments place on their long-standing counterterrorism partnership and reflected a shared commitment to addressing emerging security challenges through closer cooperation.
During the dialogue, officials assessed the prevailing terrorist threat landscape, discussed ways to broaden bilateral coordination, and explored practical measures to reinforce border security while dismantling networks that enable and support terrorist operations.
The two countries reaffirmed their intention to sustain close counterterrorism cooperation, underscoring their shared vision of protecting their citizens while advancing long-term peace, stability, and prosperity across the region.
