Rajanpur (Staff Report): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) PP-296 (Rajanpur) Sardar Tariq Khan Dareshak on Sunday passed away due to a brain haemorrhage attack.
MPA elected was admitted to a private hospital in Multan a few days ago due to deteriorated health conditions, however, Tariq Dareshak died today.
Dareshak had been a Union Council Nazim in the Musharraf era. Since then, he contested the elections thrice — once as an independent, once on a PML-N ticket and once on a PTI ticket.
This was the first time that Dareshak had won a provincial assembly seat.
Earlier, the PTI leader Fawad Ch claimed they have the numbers to form the Punjab government, and that the chief minister will be from the PTI.
For a simple majority, one needs the support of at least 149 directly elected MPAs out of 297 general members to form government in the largest province of the country in terms of population, he added.
