Karachi: Pakistan Women's Cricket Team defeated South Africa by 7 wickets in the second T20I to win the three-match series with 2-0 lead at the National Bank Stadium on Sunday.
Pakistan sealed the win in T20I series after successively chasing 151 with seven wickets in hand against South African team.
Pakistan won the toss and opted to field first. South African team scored 150 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs.
From South African side, Tazmin Burts played an innings of 46 runs, while Laura Wollwardt scored 41 runs and Marizan Kupp hit 26 runs before getting run out. From the national team, Sadia Iqbal and Nashra Sindhu dismissed one player each.
While the young opener, Shawaal Zulfiqar secured only 4 runs before getting out cheaply, Sidra Amin and Bismah Maroof as an experienced duo brought both stability and momentum to the Pakistan innings with 68-run partnership. Sidra hit an amazing 61-run knock before she was cleaned up by spinner Delmi Tucker with Pakistan needing 49 runs to win.
This was further carried on by Muneeba Ali and Aliya Riaz with 54 runs partnership on just 29 balls. The fearless and attacking approach adopted by Pakistan ensured the win in the game and series against South Africa.
In the end, Sidra Amin was awarded player of the match for her amazing 61-run performance.
The third T20I will be played on 4 September 2023, at 7:30 pm.
