Govt negotiation committee reaffirms pledge to AJK's development agenda

Islamabd (Web Desk): The federal government has successfully reached an agreement with the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, ending days of protests through dialogue.

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal confirmed that the government is committed to AJK’s development and will ensure implementation of agreed demands. He emphasized the need for administrative reforms and credited peaceful negotiations as a democratic victory.

PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira and Minister Amir Muqam praised the Prime Minister’s timely response, saying hostile elements aiming to incite unrest had failed.

A 15-day review mechanism has been introduced to ensure progress on the deal. The government also pledged improvements in healthcare, education, and governance in AJK.

Advisor Rana Sanaullah reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Kashmir and said further legal issues will be handled by a separate committee.

The deal was welcomed by JAAC leaders, who thanked PM Shehbaz Sharif for addressing their concerns.
