Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday briefed his cabinet on the positive outcomes of his recent visits to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the State of Qatar, terming them as “successful and fruitful.”
Addressing the cabinet’s meeting, the premier said that that he engaged in meaningful discussions with leaders from both countries, focusing on key areas such as solar energy, mining, minerals, and the information technology sector.
He revealed that a delegation from the Qatar Investment Authority is expected to visit Pakistan soon, following Qatar's announcement of a $3 billion investment in the country, adding that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, during a meeting, had told him that there was immense potential of IT trained people and asked him to send the skilled people from Pakistan to the Kingdom as they required it.
PM Shehbaz added that the Amir of Qatar expressed interest in establishing an IT park in Pakistan.
The premier added that Pakistan and Azerbaijan have reached an agreement to increase bilateral investments to $2 billion across various fields.
This understanding was formalised during the recent visit of Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev, resulting in the signing of several agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs).
