Mumbai (Web Desk): Bollywood actress and dancer Nora Fatehi has faced criticism on social media after speaking out in favor of global peace and unity. However, she addressed her critics firmly and clearly.
The 34-year-old Canadian-born actress shared a post on Instagram condemning the reported joint attacks on Iran by the US and Israel, emphasizing the urgent need for peace and solidarity worldwide.
Following her message, some social media users targeted her, accusing her of taking sides and trolling her for allegedly supporting a particular community.
In response, Nora posted a video addressing those misrepresenting her stance. She stated that people have lost the ability to listen and understand, even though critical thinking is a skill taught to everyone during their education. She clarified that her call for peace and unity is not directed at any single nation, religion, or group but is meant for all of humanity.
Nora added that raising a voice against chaos does not make anyone an enemy, and anyone offended by a message of peace should reflect on their own perspective. In the caption of her video, she reaffirmed her position and suggested that those disturbed by the idea of global peace might need guidance.
Earlier, the actress had also expressed concern over the escalating tensions in the Middle East, mentioning that the continuous flow of distressing news and images had affected her emotionally.
