Ghizer (Web Desk): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that he seeks a strong mandate from Gilgit-Baltistan so he can effectively represent the region in Islamabad and ensure that the voice of Gilgit is heard before any decision regarding the creation of a new province.
Addressing an election rally in the Gahkuch area of Ghizer, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari urged the public to extend full support to the PPP, saying the party needs a clear majority and strong backing from the voters.
He expressed confidence that the PPP would win all three seats from Ghizer in the upcoming elections, adding that he is not seeking support for personal gain but for the broader interest of the people. He also claimed that nine seats were taken away from the party in the previous elections.
The PPP chairman highlighted that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto granted district status to Ghizer, while President Asif Ali Zardari played a role in giving identity to Gilgit-Baltistan.
