New York (Web Desk): A couple was arrested after scaling the spire of the Empire State Building without ropes or safety equipment, where the man proposed to his partner more than 1,400 feet above the streets of New York City.
According to reports, the incident occurred on July 1 when the experienced climbers illegally ascended the iconic skyscraper.
After reaching near the top, the masked man got down on one knee and proposed by placing a ring on his partner's finger. She accepted the proposal, making for a dramatic moment high above the city.
The couple is known for illegally climbing some of the world's tallest buildings and has gained attention for similar high-risk stunts in the past.
Following the proposal, the pair descended safely but were immediately taken into custody by the New York Police Department for unlawfully climbing the building.
