Muzaffarabad (Web Desk): Polling concluded in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly constituencies LA-27 and LA-28 at 5pm after which the gates of all polling stations were closed in accordance with the election schedule.
Election authorities said that voters who had entered the polling stations before the close of polling would still be allowed to cast their ballots, ensuring that everyone present inside the premises could exercise their right to vote.
The polling process was marked by political tension at several locations across both constituencies.
According to sources, security personnel had to intervene in certain areas after the situation became tense.
Despite these incidents, the voting process continued overall and was completed as scheduled.
The voting took place after the first two phases of the AJK elections, in which the PML-N secured a commanding lead by winning 23 of the 45 seats in the Legislative Assembly, giving the party a simple majority.
