Islamabad (Web Desk): On the occasion of Police Martyrs Day, observed on Monday, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the brave police officers and personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

In separate messages, the president and the premier acknowledged the immense sacrifices made by the police in safeguarding the nation and stressed the urgent need to enhance the force’s capabilities through modern training and upgraded weaponry to address current and emerging security threats.

In his message President Zardari stated that the heroic sacrifices of the martyred officers will always be remembered by the nation.

He assured that the government remains committed to supporting the families of those who gave their lives in service to the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the crucial role played by police in the fight against terrorism, noting that more than 8,000 officers and personnel have lost their lives in this struggle.

He emphasized that their sacrifice helped protect millions of children from losing their parents.

The prime minister also commended the professional excellence of Pakistan’s police force, pointing to their recent international recognition at the World Police Summit 2025 as evidence of their outstanding performance on the global stage.
