Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Security forces successfully foiled an infiltration attempt by Indian-sponsored Fitna al-Khwarij along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border opposite North Waziristan District, killing 15 Khwarij, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), The movement of a group of Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists attempting to infiltrate Pakistan was detected on the night of August 31 and September 1.

“Own troops responded professionally and with patience to engage them successfully. As a result of precise and skillful engagement that lasted for 36 hours, 15 khwarij belonging to Indian sponsored Fitna Al Khwarij were sent to hell,” the statement said.

The military’s media wing said that during the follow up sanitization operation, a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed khwarij, which has further exposed the nefarious designs of Khwarij and their facilitators, seeking to disrupt peace and stability in the country, the news release further said.

“This incident along Pakistan-Afghanistan border once again vindicates Pakistan’s persistent stance regarding the abject failure of the Afghan Taliban Regime to deny the use of Afghan soil by the terrorist organization, under their patronage, for cross-border terrorism. The Afghan Taliban Regime has consistently failed to ensure effective border management and honor its international obligations,” it further said.

The ISPR said that the security forces of Pakistan remain ‘resolute and unwavering’ in their commitment to defend the nation’s frontiers.

The military’s media wing said that sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Indian- sponsored Kharji found in the area.

“The relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the ISPR said.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have praised the country’s security forces after they successfully stopped an attempted cross-border infiltration near North Waziristan and eliminated 15 Khawarij terrorists associated with Fitna al Hindustan.

In their separate messages, the president and the premier lauded the forces for defeating the hostile plans of Fitna al Khawarij militants through professionalism, restraint, courage and operational expertise.

President Asif Ali Zardari stressed that terrorist groups operating with support from outside forces would not be permitted to disturb peace or spread instability across Pakistan.

“The commitment of the security forces to defending the country’s borders and safeguarding peace and stability is commendable,” he said.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also reaffirmed the government’s determination to pursue the “Azm-e-Istehkam” campaign with renewed strength until the threat of terrorism is eliminated from the country.

“The entire nation takes pride in its brave armed forces, which are determined to defend the country’s borders and ensure national security,” the premier stated.
